| Bottle Cap Crafts |
| By Deb |

I just stumbled upon a really cool website! www.bottlecapco.com What I really love about this site is all the easy crafts you can do with these cute bottle caps. I ordered a bunch of the epoxy dots so that I don't have to fill the caps with the smelly resin. If you've ever attempted working with the resin, it's a little tricky. Much easier to peel and stick, I think! I really like the look of the flattened bottle caps they have on this site. I orded a bunch for a big project I'm working on for my SIL's wedding. Click on the CREATIVE IDEAS link in the upper right hand corner. Lots of really cute ideas! Enjoy! |

| Dying Eggs |
| By Deb |
| Sunday, Mar 21, 2010 06:20 |
| Just like last year at this time, I am in the middle of dying 15 dozen eggs! You should see my kitchen right now.
I have been invited to host an Egg Decorating event for a local Mother's Club. Since the idea of having containers of dye out for 2 and 3-year-olds freaks me out a little, I am dying the eggs ahead of time. Their moms can introduce them to the joys of dying their own eggs some other time. My husband thinks I'm taking all the fun out of it, but since he wouldn't be caught dead within a mile of a craft event such as this I have chosen to ignore him.
Some other crafty things I've been up to...
I did some crafts this weekend at a birthday party for a long-time student of mine. We made Silly Serpents and Spin Art T-Shirts. You can print out the instructions from the MEDIUM PROJECTS department on the main page. Everything turned out really well and the kids had an awesome time. Next Saturday I have another birthday party to do. The birthday girl chose Quilling and Ribbon-Covered Boxes to do at her party. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
My Sis-In-Law has asked me to make her wedding favors for her upcoming wedding. She has chosen Bottle Cap Magnets. Click this link... http://www.marthastewart.com/article/bottle-cap-magnets-and-thumbtacks She has sent me her images. I am shrinking them and making them look like old-fashioned sepia-toned photos. I will punch them out with a 1 inch paper punch and place them inside a silver bottle cap. I will fill the bottle caps with clear lacquer. Once the lacquer has dried I will glue a magnet to the back. I'll box them up in a clear plastic box with a ribbon for a cute presentation. Sounds like a lot of work? Yep!!! But I'm a sucker for a cute craft, and these will make an adorable and personalized wedding favor. I'll be sure to post pictures. Thankfully, I have a few more months till the wedding! |

| Get your glassine envelopes here! |
| By Deb |

| Glassine envelopes are pretty semi-transparent envelopes originally intended to store photos and negatives. I love to use them for my handmade Valentine cards. You can look online for them, but you have to buy them in massive quantities and at a heavy price. I have them available in my online store in packages of 25 for only $3.00.
Click the link below to purchase.

These little envelopes will make a charming presentation for your handmade valentine cards. My favorite style of envelope is the thumb cut variety (harder to find). These are open at the top (with no flap) which are perfect for a little decorative piece of ribbon to use a pull tab. See my VINTAGE VALENTINES for more ideas. Love Them! |

| Baker's Twine |
| By Deb |

| One year I spent HOURS online trying to track down this cute red and white string that came wrapped around a package I had received in the mail. I loved it because it was so vintage-looking and simple. I wanted to use this string in some of my Christmas craft projects, but for the life of me I couldn't find it!
Finally, after much dedicated research, I discovered that it was called "baker's twine." The rest was easy! I was delighted to learn that this particular string came in other colors. I quickly ordered two spools (which are ENORMOUS and will be handed down to my great-grandchildren), one red/white and one blue/white. The red and white is still my favorite, and the spool now rests in my kitchen next to my cookbooks.

| Here's what moms are saying ...
"I really enjoy your craft tips - they are always new and fun."
Kathy
"For three years my children attended Deb's art classes. Now we have my childrens' projects in every room of our house. The best part is the beautiful presentation. My children did everything themselves, but it was finished in such a way that it became art that we wanted to hang on our walls. "
Denise
"We love your art projects. They are so creative and my kids loved doing them. Your beautiful projects still hang up on our walls!"
Alex
"We have many of your art projects around the house as decorations! I just pulled out a beautiful tile mosaic that my daughter made. When people comment on it it makes her feel so special!"
